Enhanced Orbs

-

The left orb was on top of my daughters' heart chakra, and the right orb appeared during Christmas breakfast on the dress of a friend

I like enhancing orbs like this because it makes them surprisingly beautiful in colour, and that appeals to my artistic heart. I got the idea from Hubble telescope photos of galaxies and far-away gas formations. NASA artificially colours them to make their shapes and substances more visible. In a very simple way I've done the same with these two orbs above. I've increased the brightness/contrast and shadows/highlights in iPhoto.

NOT ORBS?

Not every odd light phenomena in photographs are orbs! Here are a few examples:

-

Tree Planting Ceremony

Greensboro
Vermont

Karin and Sig at the ceremony when their Granddaughter Elsa's placenta was buried under an apple tree. It looks like a cloud of smoke, but it could be two interlocking orbs, forming a vesica

Elbow Stone at Calendar II,

a sacred site in

Central Vermont

This was taken in the early '80's with a 35mm camera and is not an orb as we know them now. I would call this a light anomaly.

It looks as if an orb is being formed here

And a few steps later there it is, an almost perfect sphere, note how the light of the street light is shining on the orb

And yet, I do not think the above photo's are true orbs. Every time I take a photo near a street light, a sphere appears in different stages of completion. I think this is digital lens/light/flare optical distortion

This is no orb, but certainly a strange substance
is taking off from my coffee table.

And Finally

Karin

My own orb

Thanks to Sig for all his help with the building of these pages
and thank you Jade Rae and Kiera for your inspiration and rekindling my interest in orbs.
